Heller Statement on Pelosi’s Healthcare Plan
October 29, 2009

(Washington, DC) – Today U.S. Congressman Dean Heller (R-NV) made the following statement on the introduction of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s 1,990-page healthcare plan (H.R. 3962).
“As Nevadans struggle and our nation is experiencing high unemployment, Nancy Pelosi has chosen to tax small businesses and punish seniors on Medicare. This bill will increase insurance premiums, kill jobs with new taxes and mandates, and dramatically cuts Medicare benefits for Nevada’s seniors.
“Behind closed doors, this Pelosi healthcare bill nearly doubled in size from what was considered in committee. Massive government expansion and higher taxes is not the reform our nation needs,” said Heller.
